This ancient ship design was the pride and joy of the local people from long ago. Made out of cypress wood, it was used for transporting merchandise all over the Mediterranean, a task that only few vessels of the time could accomplish. Don’t miss the adorable churches and the Venetian fortress above the city, which was built in the 16th century as a protection against pirates.

    Lunch

Have a memorable lunch prepared on a local estate from seafood caught that very morning. The catch of the day will be sumptuously prepared. If you are lucky, your host might offer you a local specimen of fish that you’ve never had the chance to try before. Taste some local wines, rakija (brandy) and olive oil produced on the estate. Listen to stories about life on the island and discover why outsiders weren’t allowed there for more than 40 years. Sit back and imagine the recent past when not so long ago this beautiful island was used for military purposes.
